Senior/Principal Hybrid QA QC (Manual, Automation, AI preferred)

Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Design: Analyze system requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create detailed test plans and comprehensive test cases.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, developers, and designers in an agile environment to clarify requirements, identify risks, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the development process.
- Comprehensive Testing Execution: Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and API testing to ensure robust coverage and high product reliability.
- Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and scale automated test scripts for both web UI and APIs using relevant frameworks and tools.
- Quality Advocacy: Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira. Drive continuous improvement of test coverage, QA processes, and quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Review and enhance QA workflows, tools, and testing strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the team.
- Mentorship: Guide junior QA engineers, promoting a culture of quality and ongoing learning within the engineering organization.
Requirements
Must Have:
* 5+ years of experience in software testing for web and/or mobile applications
* Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices
* Ability to design detailed test plans, and comprehensive test cases derived from requirements and technical specifications.
* Rich epxerience in executing manual or automated API tests using relevant tools (e.g., Postman, Insomnia, SoapUI, custom scripts).
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how QA fits into the release process
* Ability to read and analyze logs, API responses, and basic frontend/backend code for debugging
Nice to Have:
* Experience testing data platforms, data pipelines, or systems with an API-first architecture.
* Experience in programming or scripting languages (e.g., TypeScript, Go, Python, Shell)
* Experience working in cross-functional teams with developers, designers, and product managers
* Experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
* Exposure to performance, security, or accessibility testing
* Familiarity with cloud-based environments (e.g., AWS)
* ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification
