We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead multi-product engineering teams, delivering high-quality software solutions while ensuring engineering standards, scalability, and maintainability. You will drive technical excellence, balance speed with quality, and foster a high-performing team culture across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-product engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend technical solutions balancing performance, scalability, maintainability, and cost.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Balance delivery speed with quality, acting as a voice of reason between business and engineering priorities.
  • Define clear goals, SMART objectives, and measurable outcomes for teams and individuals.
  • Implement and oversee Agile (Scrum, Kanban, LeSS) and DevOps practices, driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to improve development and delivery processes.
  • Mentor and coach engineers, overseeing people management activities including 1:1 meetings, training, career development, probation, and performance reviews.
  • Solve complex technical and business challenges, including escalated issues and technical debt.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure system stability.
  • Maintain openness, transparency, and proactive communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • Foster adaptability by encouraging adoption of tools, processes, and approaches that support the product roadmap.

Must-Have Skills

  • Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
  • 8+ years in software development with 5+ years in engineering or product leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams of 5–10+ members. To lead the design, scaling, and security of high-performance distributed systems.
  • Proven technical experience with any programming language, micro-services, and AWS, along with exposure to other modern tech stacks to guide architecture and implementation decisions.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, secure development standards, and coding best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to make informed technical decisions.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to adapt across cultural differences.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation skills to ensure reliable and secure delivery.
  • User-first mindset with strong focus on quality and maintainability.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and practices (Scrum, Kanban, LeSS).
  • Experience with micro-services, micro-frontend architectures, and multi-tenant systems.
  • Experience in developing software for accounting, finance, or related domains.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS platforms, cloud cost optimization, or high-availability systems.
  • Japanese-speaking skills to enhance cross-country collaboration.
