The title is a pun intended. It is a combination of Sync and CEO. It's where you connect with our top leaders, culture, workplace & growth potential. This is not just an interview; it's an inside look.

For the first topic

I want you to have a clearer picture of what MFV is, in general.

Money Forward Vietnam is a Leading Fintech x SaaS company from Japan. Our claim itself has contained the essence of MFV, naming Leading, SaaS and Fintech, and Japan. 

If you were asked what “leading” was, how would you answer?

In MFV’s business context, it is neither the biggest nor fastest; it means much more than that. 

The first angle is taking ownership of what’s in your hands. The fact that technology is evolving exponentially is one of the causes of our market change. If we want to support our users, but, for any reason, latency occurs in business, the advantageous competency of Money Forward will be far left behind. So, Money Forward Vietnam wants to take ownership of decisions and actions from our side for users’ sake, as long as we are aligning with and going on the same track as the Money Forward Group. We believe it represents and enhances our Culture Speed. 

Not only ownership

Our product line is served for Japanese users, aligning with Japanese market regulation, compliance, which is renowned for its high demand. Do you know that if a product system malfunctions or is delayed for 1-2 seconds, it is probably considered a technical issue, causing business loss or deteriorating user experience? You see that a small match can make an implosion. So…

The second angle I want to mention if we can meet the unspoken demand of users, or even beyond, it will be our competitive advantage. It sounds simple, but it requires tremendous effort to be prudent and thoughtful. So the user satisfaction of our product is getting higher, which implies much about MFV’s capability is truly elevated. 

Another perspective on "leading" comes from the market itself, especially with technology, particularly AI, evolving incredibly fast. What might be "right" or "best" today may not be tomorrow. This understanding is crucial. We must constantly observe market and user demands, catch up every day, and reflect these insights in our product development, operations, and product management. This ensures we continuously fulfill user satisfaction and expectations, and it's a core element of what leading means.

A key part of "leading" for us is also about mindset. It's vital to have an eager-to-grow attitude and always maintain an evolution mindset. Evolution is one of our core cultural values because, as I said, the market and technology are constantly evolving. We aspire to be a trusted and selected partner for our users, and we are eager to pursue user-focused product development. This encapsulates what "leading" means at MFV.

To summarize the key elements of our definition of "leading":

  • Being in ownership of our actions and decisions. Bear in mind that it must align with the shared goals of the organization.

  • A product mindset, especially maintaining a high standard for product development.

  • Being open to updates and quickly catching up with market and technology changes, then immediately reflecting these in your work.

  • Cultivating a culture of evolution and an eager-to-grow mindset, which means having a strong growth mindset.
